There are many places of interest within easy driving distance of The Lodges. Some of our favorites are listed below with the approximate driving distance.
Bellozar Studio (0.5 miles)
Bellozar Studio is the home of an exceptional artist whose studio is next door to The Lodges. Call Sharon Zarambo at (540)-923-5077 and make an appointment to see her wonderful mixed-media art. You have to see it to fully appreciate it. You’ll be amazed. She is going to hit the big time soon so don’t miss a great opportunity.
Ducard Vineyards (4 miles)
Ducard Vineyards is a boutique winery in gorgeous mountainside setting very near The Lodges. Limited quantity, estate grown wines in a relaxed, fun and intimate environment. Tasting room features deck with great views of mountains, streams and vineyards. Their 2010 Viognier recently represented the State of Virginia in a blind tasting challenge versus a top French wine producer ($80 per bottle) and was judged a dead heat tie by a panel of international wine judges! Little Country Store (2 miles)
Visit the old-time Little Country Store located just minutes from The Lodges. Groceries, deli, beverages, locally raised Rider’s Backfield Farm Beef. Hershey’s hand dipped ice cream. Fresh cut lunch meats, cheese and slab bacon. Homemade pork BBQ sandwiches served daily.
Sharp Rock Vineyards (4 miles)
The Sharp Rock Vineyards resides in a 220 year old family farm located on the beautiful Hughes River in an unspoiled valley at the foot of Old Rag Mountain near The Lodges. They craft twelve award-winning wines produced in limited quantities from handpicked grapes grown in their vineyards. Renovated 100 year old barn tasting room.
Graves Mountain Lodge (6 miles)
Near The Lodges, nestled deep in the foothills of the Blue Ridge Mountains , Graves Mountain Lodge offers horseback riding, swimming and some good old-fashioned porch sitting. Dinners are served family style.
Copper Fox Distillery (11 miles)
Copper Fox Distillery, dedicates themselves to making great American spirits. Pot-stilled in small batches, one barrel at a time honoring time-tested methods. When you open your first bottle of Wasmund’s Single Malt, you will experience a range of flavors never before captured in any whisky: Earthy, Woody, Crisp, Robust, Complex, Intriguing. As one person said after tasting it for the first time: This whisky does not just speak for itself, it sings!

Glassworks Gallery was designed, built, and is owned by professional artists who care about quality, design, and personal service. Established in 1984 in Sperryville, Virginia, Glassworks Gallery borders Shenandoah National Park and is adjacent to Skyline Drive and the Appalachian Trail areas of the Blue Ridge Mountains
Yoder’s Country Market (16 miles)
This is a Mennonite country store with a cozy down home atmosphere with country goodies. Yoder’s Country Market has been operated as a family business since 1985 and has freshly baked pies and breads, soups and salads, and over 75 different meats and cheeses. Sandwiches are made to suit your taste. Goats, sheep and birds for children to pet and view. It is a fun place to visit. 10% off for seniors on Tuesdays.
Early Mountain Vineyards (17 miles)
Located just South of Madison; Early Mountain Vineyards comprise more than 300 acres of the historic Monticello Wine Trail. With its warm and inviting tasting room, picturesque outdoor spaces and breathtaking views, guests are welcomed to enjoy the wines and linger for a palate pleasing experience.
Prince Michel Vineyards (17 miles)
Breathtaking mountain and vineyard views perfectly complement their state of the art winemaking facilities at Prince Michel Vineyards. Enjoy internationally acclaimed wines in their tasting room and shop for unique gifts in their gift shop. Thirsty Thursday occurs the 2nd Thursday of each month 5 pm to 8 pm with live music, wine tastings and supper fare available for purchase.
Shenandoah Skyline Drive (19 miles)
A short drive from The Lodges, Shenandoah National Park is your escape to recreation and re-creation. Cascading waterfalls, spectacular vistas, quiet wooded hollows—take a hike, a meander along Skyline Drive, or a picnic with the family. 200,000 acres of protected lands are haven to deer, songbirds, the night sky…and you.
Luray Caverns (30 miles)
Discovered in 1878, Luray Caverns are the largest in Eastern America. More than 4,000,000 centuries in the making. This is a great destination particularly in inclement weather.
Thomas Jefferson’s Monticello (45 miles)
Discover the genius and secrets of Thomas Jefferson, the 3rd president of the United States and author of the Declaration of Independence. Spend a day on the beautiful grounds of Monticello and get an intimate look at his mountaintop home and learn of early life in the colonial times.
James Madison’s Montpelier (125 miles)
